Discover lesser-known islands
Your cruise aboard Bolette has been designed to showcase a number of the world's lesser-known islands. Located in the Pacific Ocean, Robinson Crusoe Island was home to the marooned Scottish explorer Alexander Selkirk, and is said to have been the inspiration for Daniel Defoe’s novel of the same name. The island is a haven of rich marine life, where the clear waters hide coral reefs and dunes. You'll have the chance to explore the remote Polynesian island of Rapa Nui - Easter Island - renowned for its iconic Moai statues carved from volcanic rock, which are said to represent the spirits of the island's ancestors and chiefs. St. Helena Island is home to a diverse ecosystem where unique flora and fauna thrive, and was believed to be the place of Napolean's exile and death; while Pitcairn Island is the definition of a paradise island, virtually unspoiled, and is home to descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers.

On this cruise, you'll discover a multitude of cultures throughout the world. When in South America, join us on tours to experience the Samba beats of Rio de Janeiro, or witness a sultry and passionate Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires. During your time in Uruguay, spend time with the Gauchos and learn of their deep connection of living off the land, while in Australia you'll be able to uncover the rich Aboriginal culture that thrives here and understand more of their traditions, identity and heritage. In South Africa, there will be the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela and visit many of the places which influenced his life, including Robben Island where he was incarcerated for almost three decades.
Seeking out wildlife
Bolette will take you on a journey to see some of the world's most magnificent wildlife. When in South America, you'll have the unique opportunity to see the distinctive Magellanic Penguins gathered in nesting colonies; while in Australia, do join us on a tour to spend time with koalas, kangaroos and other indigenous species to discover how they live and breed. No visit to South Africa is complete without going in search of the Big Five, so during your time here, be sure to experience a thrilling game drive to spot majestic lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffalo, creating unforgettable memories.

We’ve arranged for some wonderful guest speakers to join us for this cruise. They will be delivering a programme of insightful talks and activities to deepen your cultural, artistic and historical understanding of the destinations we will be exploring, well as helping you to enjoy the natural beauty of the places we visit.
Andrew Gregson
Andrew will be joining us to provide insights into the way of life in Tasmania, as well as delivering a series of engaging talks on various other topics.
Captain Stephen Timms
Captain Stephen Timms OBE served in the Royal Navy during the Cold War and will be delivering engaging talks on a range of naval and maritime history themes, covering the Portuguese Age of Discoveries, including Henry the Navigator.
Dr. Robyn Ferrell
Robyn will be joining us to deliver a series of engaging talks on the history of Western Australia, as well as share insights into what it's like growing up in Fremantle and Albany.
Dr. Tobias Sperlich
Dr. Tobias Sperlich is a cultural anthropologist specialising in the arts, cultures, and histories of Polynesia. He will be joining us to deliver a series of talks on French Polynesian myths and legends.
Go Stargazing
Go Stargazing is formed of a group of astronomers, all of whom are keen to encourage public interest in astronomy to as wide an audience as possible. Join Wil Cheung on your cruise for stargazing sessions conducted on the top deck in the evenings.
Isaac Kenyon
Geoscientist, Isaac Kenyon, is passionate about adventure travel and the great outdoors. Isaac will be joining us to deliver a series of talks on the geology and wilderness of the destinations we will be visiting.
Julian Dowdeswell
As a retired Professor in Physical Geography from the University of Cambridge, Julian has a plethora of expertise in the processes of shaping our planet. Durring his time on board, he will deliver insightful talks about the Namib Desert and landscapes you will encounter from Cape Town to Dakar.
Maria Chester
Maria Chester is an Arts Society speaker who hails from Buenos Aires. She will be joining the cruise between Rio and Valpariaso to share her experiences of living in the city as well as discussing South American art.
Michaela Strachan
One of TV’s best-loved presenters, Michaela Strachan, is extremely passionate about animal welfare and has extensive experience in wildlife conservation around the world. As we explore Cape Town together, Michaela will be joining us on board to deliver a series of insightful talks and also accompany guests on a number of tours.
Neil Caithness
Former Park Ranger and Zoologist Neil Caithness will be on hand to share his experiences from his work in game reserves and national parks.
OWE (Ocean Wildlife Encounters)
Ocean Wildlife Encounters (OWE) are a group of highly experienced wildlife speakers. Join them for an insightful talk or out on deck to search the seas for wildlife.
Robyn Ratcliff
Robyn is an experienced International Speaker who has travelled frequently with interests in the history, traditions, general living and nature within Australia. Born in Sydney, Australia, Robyn will be joining us to provide an insight into the Australian way of life.
Steven Mayo-Smith
Steven Mayo-Smith’s diverse international background allows him to share his deep knowledge of the myths, history and journeys that make up Aotearoa and its Pacific neighbours during his engaging talks.
Vanessa Tissington
Vanessa will joining to provide us an insight to what it is like to live on the remote island of St. Helena after she spent a year on the island as a teacher, as well as a series of other engaging talks on different topics.
