As Balmoral navigates the fjord-like Bay of Kotor and sails past the mountainous Makarska Riviera, you will have the opportunity to witness the wonders of nature at sites such as Lake Bled, Lokrum Island and the Krka Waterfalls when you set foot ashore. An exploration of scenic Greek Islands will offer the chance to see the beautiful coastline of Zakynthos as it meets the iconic blue-domed, whitewashed houses of Santorini. In Italy, indulge in ‘la dolce vita’ – the sweet life – as you savour delights of pasta, limoncello and pizza. In Croatia, explore bustling local markets, dine in authentic konobas, indulge in Dingač and Postup red wines and enjoy local folk music; while in Greece, visit taverns offering traditional cuisine, including souvlaki and moussaka, kalamata olives and Assyrtiko wine. There will also be opportunities to visit he ancient ruins of Paestum, Pompeii and Herculaneum; discover Balkan history at Diocletian’s Palace in Split and the Walls of Dubrovnik or marvel at the Palace of Knossos, the ruins of Ancient Thera and Athens’ Acropolis, with its famous temple ruins, the Parthenon.

On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.

Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
