Discovering remote islands
Bolette will sail to some of the world's most remote islands, offering you the opportunity to discover dramatically different landscapes. The volcanic Juan Fernandez Islands are renowned for being the inspiration behind the Robinson Crusoe novel, based on the story of the Scottish sailor Alexander Selkirk who was marooned here; while the rocky island of Pitcairn is home to around just fifty inhabitants and can be admired from the decks of your ship. Join us on tour to explore the isolated island of St. Helena, once a crucial port on shipping routes to Asia, and discover how Napoleon was exiled here. The islands of Tahiti and Bora Bora typify the meaning of paradise, with clear seas lapping at sandy beaches, and backdrops of swaying palms and lush, volcanic peaks.
Experience distinctive cultures
On this cruise, you'll have the opportunity to discover a diverse range of unique cultures. When in South America, take time to discover the origins of, and participate in the Samba in Rio de Janeiro and the passionate Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires. In Australia, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in the rich traditions of the Aboriginal culture and discover their connection to family, community and country; and also learn more about the Gold Rush period in New South Wales. The beautiful islands of Tahiti are renowned for their rare black pearls, so during your time here you may wish to join our tour to swim over the oyster beds to find your own; while in South Africa, enjoy a visit to the heart of its wine region, and discover how their renowned wines are cultivated.
Go in search of wildlife
In South America, witnessing Magellan Penguins and Antarctic birdlife soaring amongst the backdrop of towering snow-capped mountains is surely a bucket-list experience like no other; and when you are in Australia, you'll be able to encounter koalas and kangaroos, along with other indigenous species. When Bolette arrives in South Africa, you'll have many opportunities to go on a memorable game drive in search of the Big Five. To see lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffalo in their natural habitat is a humbling and unforgettable experience, and as many of the game reserves have miles of open savannah to explore, your guide will be an expert in being able to spot the most elusive of wildlife.

Visa and health requirements can change at any time. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you check with a professionally qualified source and comply with such requirements. UK passport holders will need visas for certain Fred. Olsen cruise holidays and will be advised at the time of booking. Your cruise booking information will also detail any requirements applicable to your holiday.
On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.
Our single guests feel right at home on board our ships; Fred. Olsen have the reputation of sailing the friendliest fleet afloat.
Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
