Highlights

Canal boat in Amsterdam waterways

Explore waterways of the Netherlands

On this cruise aboard Borealis, you'll have the chance to explore the iconic waterways of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Join us on deck as your Captain navigates through the winding Nieuwe Maas, showcasing its transformation from a traditional port city to a hub of contemporary design and innovation. You will also have the opportunity to discover the 19 historic windmills at Kinderdijk, reached from the Lek and Noord Rivers. Meanwhile, Amsterdam is the ideal setting to explore by boat where sailing along the tree-lined crescent-shaped Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Prinsengracht canals offers vistas of elegant gabled houses and historic bridges.

Traditional Wooden Clogs

Experience the Dutch Culture

Due to the vast network of bike lanes crisscrossing the towns and cities, cycling is a common way of life in the Netherlands. Take a tour of Amsterdam's stunning tulip fields and see how the bulbs in Keukenhof Gardens are grown. Known as "klompen," traditional wooden clogs are an integral element of Dutch culture and are recognised as national symbols in many places rather than being used as shoes these days. Take the chance to participate in a clog-making workshop at a nearby farm, where you may make your own memento and see how they are manufactured. No trip to the Netherlands would be complete without indulging in delectable delicacies like stroopwaffels, and bitterballen, and Dutch cheeses such as Edam, Gouda and Leerdammer.
