What's included and what's not included in the price of a cruise?
At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we do our utmost to ensure our cruise holidays are not just hugely enjoyable, but great value too. The benefits included in each cruise package are listed below and, as you'll see, there's a lot - so you can just relax and get on with having a good time!
Do your cruises accommodate children?
We welcome younger guests on board Bolette and Balmoral, aged between 12 months and 17. On peak-time holiday cruises, our Little Skippers Club keeps children between 5 and 11 years old entertained with a variety of fun activities. They will enjoy arts and crafts, discos, treasure hunts and loads more, all run by our friendly team of hosts and hostesses*.
Do you provide shuttle buses in ports where it is not possible to walk to the town centre?
When your ship is berthed some distance from the centre of your destination, a convenient shuttle bus service is often provided to save you money on taxi fares. All day tickets (for which a small charge applies) can be bought from Guest Services. However, for those guests who are booked on a Freedom Fare offer, this charge is included.
Are there any visa requirements I need to be aware of?
Visa and health requirements can change at any time. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you check with a professionally qualified source and comply with such requirements. UK passport holders will need visas for certain Fred. Olsen cruise holidays and will be advised at the time of booking. Your cruise booking information will also detail any requirements applicable to your holiday.
Do you have a luggage handling company?
When you cruise with Fred. Olsen, why not let one of our recommended luggage handling service providers take care of your bags? They'll collect them from your home before you leave, and securely deliver them directly to your cabin on board. They'll do the same on the way home, too.
Do I need a passport to go on a cruise?
It is a condition of carriage that all guests embarking on a cruise holiday in foreign waters must hold a full and valid passport that conforms to the entry requirements of each destination visited, and is valid for at least 6 months after the date of return to the UK. For guests sailing on a British Isles cruise, photo ID is accepted.
What is The Olsen Way Promise?
If you favour a welcoming, ‘home-from-home’ atmosphere, friendly, smiling staff and like-minded fellow guests with whom you can share a good story or two, you’ll likely find Fred. Olsen to your taste. You don’t have to take our word for it though: we’re so confident that you’ll like cruising with us that we offer our Enjoyment Promise as standard.
The price of my cruise has gone down in price since I booked, why is that?
We encourage all of our guests to book their cruise with us in advance. This means you will sail on the itinerary of your choice, in your chosen cabin grade and with other benefits available to you like a choice of dining times and the first chance to book your chosen destination tours – it also means you will have something in the diary to look forward to!
